Later, she and her husband worked through a church organization: the Mennonite Central Committee (MCC), together with the Association for Community Living (ACL) in Newfoundland and New Brunswick to promote community inclusion. Those experiences led to writing this book. Over the years, she has written stories for and about her four dear grandchildren; she has also researched and written about her ancestry. She enjoys nature, camping and photography. Family and church family remain her priority. She lives with her husband and daughter in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada.
